Welcome to a little corner of our world dedicated
to preserving the memories of our ancestors! With many a tale,
testament, or hymn packed in their knapsacks, our fathers immigrated
here leaving traces of their footprint primarily along the Southern
trails of Alabama, Florida, the Carolinas, and Georgia. And because of
their faith in God, a vision, strong work ethic, and perseverance they
built homes, birthed babies, and planted fields so that we could reap
their bounty--a legacy or birthright, if you will--passed down to us
and our children.
And locked within the treasure chest of a past (with its key often rusty or
missing), lie jewels of
undiscovered mysteries and secrets. After prying open our treasure
chest, Doris and I discovered a host of family revelations along with
a wealth of new and old friendships. One gem we happened upon was the
opportunity to become acquainted with our mother's cousin, Jean
Anderson Wiles (tied in to us by both the Mattox and Wilcox
lineage--my grandfather's niece), who afforded us with nuggets of knowledge in our
genealogy quest.
So without further ado, we trust you enjoy your
stay and encourage you to interact with us. Please feel free to share
any personal stories, family recipes, cultural findings, heritage
photographs, military contributions and achievements, or
public/personal records. Drop us a line from time to time and do come
back often as our website is always a work in progress.
God bless from the Hallford sisters,
Daughters of Muriel Wilcox and the late Bobby
Hallford
