| Nellie Lenora Patrick (abt Sept-1918) |
|
Nellie, our great grandmother (seated) and daughter, Lillian (far right). Nellie was wife of Sheriff John Henry Mattox. We are unsure who the couple is. I have been told the male was probably Roland, Lillian's brother, but Lillian was 9 years older than Roland which would have made Roland 10 at the time. The female is probably Lora--just need someone to positively ID. Another male possibility: Tommie, who was two years older than Lillian (would have been 21). He was struck by lightning and died June-1918, so it could not have been him if this photo was taken in Sept. at Lillian's wedding. And, we have no idea what Tommie looks like! 3rd possibility: Lem, who was three years younger than Lillian (would have been 16). However, he is remembered as tall and thin and doesn't seem to fit the facial features here from other photos. So, I do not believe this is any of Lillian's brothers. Perhaps a younger brother or nephew of Nellie or some other close relative? Wait!!! Maybe Walter Andrews? Aunt Lora and Uncle Walter were just married Jan. 14, 1918, six months before Lillian's wedding. If you can positively ID, please email us! |
