Meme's Cornbread Dressing

Great at Thanksgiving--a family favorite!

Ingredients:

  • 4 Jiffy Mix cornbread muffins, baked/crumbled
  • Pepperidge Farm Herb Stuffing Mix (sm. bag)
  • 3 Tbsp. dried sage
  • 2 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 lg. chopped onion
  • 1-2 c. diced celery
  • 1 lg. turkey quarter (leg & thigh), cooked/deboned (use chicken bouillon in water)

Directions:

Sauté onion and celery. Combine 1st 4 dry ingredients along with veggies and pulled meat (reserving meat broth). Turn into large casserole. Pour most of the broth over pan of dressing. Should be juicy as dressing will soak up broth and prevent it from being overly dry. Bake 400° for approx. 1 hr. or until brown. Let set about 20 min. before cutting into squares.
